A Partnership to Make Bremen More Sustainable

  • Posted On: February 7, 2020

Soon citizens in Bremen will start benefiting from the SUNRISE-Fietje cooperation!

With the aim of implementing mobility solutions in the SUNRISE neighbourhood in Bremen, the project partner Free Hanseatic City of Bremen has recently signed a partnership with the German Bicycle Association (ADFC) to launch the free cargo bike rental service in Hulsberg.

Under the motto ‘Cargo bike for everyone,’ the campaign will start on Monday 10 February. Citizens in this city will be able to rent the bikes for one to three days and make their urban traveling more sustainable.

The Fietje project, which has been running for two years, is a free cargo bike project of ADFC-Bremen that depends on the support of partners and donations. SUNRISE will start supporting Fietje to provide mobility alternatives to cars with a wide range of offers and thus relieve the pressure on the roads in the Hulsberg area.

SUNRISE-Fietje cooperation plans to expand by enlarging the cargo bikes fleet and make them available in the neighbourhood in the long term.
